Giving Hope to Puerto Rico's Most Vulnerable Dogs & Cats
For over 25 years, El Faro de los Animales has rescued, rehabilitated, and protected abandoned dogs and cats through adoption, veterinary care, transport partnerships, and lifelong sanctuary.
El Faro is a non-profit organization providing shelter, medicine, food and love to abandoned dogs and cats in Puerto Rico. Since 2001, we have run a limited-admission shelter located in the southeastern coast of the island. To date, we have rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 3,000 animals. With our resources, we run an educational program, teaching young and old about compassionate and responsible care of animals.

Help reduce the population of homeless animals on the streets of Puerto Rico through low-cost spay & neuter programs and education programs aimed at the general public and children in particular.
Foster respect, compassion and correct treatment of animals.
Help rehabilitate homeless animals to live healthy and happy lives in safe and loving homes.
